Commissioning of the Ras Abu Jarjour Earth Station - 40 fils
This stamp commemorates the commissioning of the Ras Abu Jarjour Earth Station, a landmark achievement in Bahrain's telecommunications history. Opened in 1969, the station enabled Bahrain to join the emerging global satellite communications network, providing direct and reliable international telephone, telegraph, and data links. The project marked a major technological advance for the country, significantly improving communications with the rest of the world and reducing Bahrain's dependence on traditional communication systems. The inauguration of the Ras Abu Jarjour Earth Station represented an important step in Bahrain's modernization and integration into the international community. By adopting satellite communication technology at an early stage, Bahrain strengthened its position as a regional center for commerce, finance, and transportation. The station facilitated faster business communications, supported economic development, and enhanced the country's ability to participate in global trade and international cooperation. The stamp celebrates this milestone in Bahrain's technological progress and its commitment to modern communications infrastructure.
