Traditional Minaret & Arcade Mosque - 100 fils

Traditional Bahraini mosque architecture often integrates classical Gulf Islamic design elements, including arched arcades (riwaq), crenellated rooflines, and prominent octagonal or cylindrical minarets with decorative balconies designed to facilitate the call to prayer across local communities. Issued alongside the local architecture series in the mid-1970s, this 100 Fils postage stamp (STATE OF BAHRAIN / دولة البحرين / 100 FILS / ١٠٠ فلس) depicts a traditional Bahraini mosque featuring an elegant arched entrance portico and a tall, stepped minaret with dual balconies. Like the companion values in the series, the top right corner bears the portrait inset of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
