20th Anniversary of the World Health Organization - 150 fils
This stamp commemorates the twentieth anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), which was established on 7 April 1948 as a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to improving global public health. The anniversary provided an opportunity for member states, including Bahrain, to recognize two decades of international cooperation in combating disease, improving sanitation, expanding vaccination programs, and promoting better healthcare standards around the world.
The celebration highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing health challenges that transcend national borders. During the first twenty years of its existence, the WHO played a major role in coordinating efforts against infectious diseases, strengthening national health systems, and advancing medical research and public health education. By issuing this stamp, Bahrain expressed its support for international health initiatives and honored the achievements of the global campaign to improve the well-being and quality of life of people worldwide.
